Why Play 3v3
Minimize

United 3v3 League
Minimize
  • League is for U6 - U8 teams only
  • Dates: January 16th - March 6th, 2010
  • All games are played on Saturday's between 9.00am and 5.00pm
  • Teams guaranteed 6 games
  • All games played at Whitman Elementary School gym, for directions click here
  • $150 per team
  • No minimum/maximum number to a roster but a maximum of 6 players can play each Saturday
  • Each team must provide a referee for a maximum of 3 games
  • League will have a maximum of 4 teams at U6, 6 teams at U7 & U8 for each gender
  • Teams accepted on a first come, first served basis
  • The playing surface at Whitman is on a hard wearing short pile carpet, regular soccer attire with indoor flat shoes (sneakers) is required

3v3 Rules
Minimize

Facility

  • Played on carpet using basketball markings
  • Please respect the facility, no spitting, swearing, leaving trash etc.

Equipment

  • Indoor soccer shoes or sneakers only
  • Shin guards must be worn at all times
  • Game ball will be provided by us
  • Home team wears Blue or Dark and away team wears White

Teams

  • 3v3 on the field, no goalkeepers
  • On the fly substituting, player must leave the field before the next player can enter

Game(s)

  • Games must start on time
  • 15 minute halves with a 2 minute half time, running clock, no stoppages or time outs
  • Ball is out when it crosses the entire line
  • Kick-ins from the sidelines, all kick-ins are indirect.  The ball must be stopped before kicking back in.
  • Defending teams must be at least 5 yards back
  • All re-starts must take place within 5 seconds or the ball will be awarded to the opposing team, apart from when a goal is scored
  • Corner kicks are direct
  • All free kicks are in-direct
  • Teams cannot play with a deep sweeper/goal keeper to protect the goal
  • Goals can only be scored in the opponents half
  • An indirect free kick will be awarded to the opposing team from where the ball was kicked if a goal is scored from within their own half
  • Goal kicks will be taken when the ball crosses the end line, these can be taken 2 or 3 yards in front of the goal.  The defending team must retreat to the half way line before the goal kick can be taken.
  • All spectators must be on the stage area during games
  • The home team listed (first) will provide the game referee
  • The facilitator will manage the game clock and start/stop the games
  • Players and coaches will be on sideline with the climbing wall.  Players are allowed to have water/drink on the sidelines but no bags, balls etc. 

All rules are subject to change at the discretion of the location facilitator
